Man, I envy Loewy’s career, but holy hell were his car designs fugly.

I’m interested in it, I probably will be a few months more. But I’m also very interested in a change of pace after 3 months confined to an apartment doing damn video calls.

yep, that guy had that this in his bag and when Studebaker brought him in he hit the ground running, both look good but the Avanti is classic. I had a book on this with a lot of the back story but I don’t have it anymore but I think that’s right, Studebaker was just too small to compete and finally ground to a halt. when the ‘55 GM models hit the showrooms it was just a matter of time before we were down to the big 3 and AMC. a few rich guys came and went trying to keep the Avanti going as a limited production grand touring car into the late 80's but i think they were finally gone by 90 or so
